Hi, I have the same issue, it finds the camera but the image is broken. I am using the arducam and when Thomas released the beta-support for the arducam it did work just fine on my openscan classic. Now I have built the mini and flashed the latest software but can not get the image to work. When I press the scan-button it stops at picture 1/80, I assume this is related. I attach the error file in an attempt to solve this problem.
Having same problem. Using pi3b with picam v2.1 and getting camera ready with broken image. Using latest stable firmware (not sure which or how to tell).
Tried reseating camera. Tried alternative cable.
Tried piCam 1.3 cam (could not get it to recognise)
Any ideas what may be causing this or how to diagnose?
Next steps are to install VNC on the rpi so i can snoop around the Rasbian OS while its working, and check Cam settings without having to drill a hole in the 3d printed casing to get to to the HDMI.
Problem was the nylon screws on the camera module were pulling on the camera PCB ever so slightly causing it to flex and the sunny cable must've been losing proper connection even though it looked in place.
Going to find a nut that is slightly thinner than the two placed under the camera module and should be all gravy.
Thanks for all the help and the work on this project is amazing btw!
Thank you for asking to see the file. Attached

Also bought an ArduCam to try instead.
Any ideas appreciated.
