Hi,
I'm new to this forum and not sure if it usefull to ask questions in English but I will see if I get answers ;-)
I want to start with OpenScan so I printed the needed parts.
Then I wanted to buy the needed electronic components from the shop on the OpenScan website but first I had some questions so I posted those with the contact form (twice already) . But i never got some answer/reaction. So I'm wondering, is there someone that follows the send contact forms and answers the questions posted in there?
What are the experience of you (forum community) with buying items from the shop? Because if i do not get reaction on contact forms I wonder ....
For the rest I would like to know what is the best set to be used for this scanner?: Arduino or Rasberry Pi? The Pi costs more but maybe it has some more possibilities or is stabeler that the Arduino set. Can you tell me the pros/cons of both sets I intent to use the scanner with a canon DSLR camera. Do I need some extra components for this? remote control? I intent to by the complete Arduino or Pi set but I see that the Pi set doesn't contain the LCD (or am I wrong here) What er the other differences between the Arduino set and the PI set and do i need those to start working with such a scanner? thanks for helping me to start with this nice project. regards Didier
Hi I have just purchased the Pi shield and lights sometimes i have found you have to wait a while for answers to questions I hope this helps
ok, thanks for the info. already ordered the complete PI set, hope it doesn't take to long to recieve
Just to be fair regarding my remark that I do not get any reply to questions asked through the website ... (contact form) My ordered parts have arived today (so 11 days after ordering them, I find that very acceptable). Thanks OpenScan, I can start assembling the scanner tonight 😉
Hi Just have manage to get mine up and running still having trouble getting in to the OpenScan on the web through Pi I can see it always on Angry IP seems to do it sometimes but not others unusual. I hope you get yours up and running well
Finally got the time to proceed with this OpenScan... SetUp without problems, it looks like everything works ...great so far. I've got a question to the guys from OpenScan themselfs. I bought the "Raspberry Pi - full set" with the "Polarizer" But I do not know how I can attach that Polarizer?? Can you provide me a picture from that Raspberry Pi setup with the Polarizer attached? Maybe I have done something wrong in the assembly (I think not but ...).
I hope I get some reaction on this because I would like to protect the camera as quick as possible and use the Polariser as quick as possible.
Thanks
Mine slides on from top to bottom. Is yours a mini scan sorry don't know how that attaches I have a openscan scanner
@Tim Davies Hi Tim, On mine that does not work... First of all the sides of that Polarizer are completely flat, so no ribbon (or how is that called) to slide it over something else. Also the camera stucks out a bit and if I look to that Polarizer than it's impossible to mount that to the printed stand and over the camera? I need to say that I printed the "OpenScan_-_RPi_with_Ringlight_and_Network+USB" version because I found it better to have more room for the fragile camera cabel. Maybe need to try with the default stl? Can you attach a picture of your scanner so I can see the Polarizer attached
Ok, after some more research it looks like I asked a few stupid questions. It looks like the Pi setup does noet ned the LCD because it works with a Web-interface. So I guess the recommended way is using the Rasberry Pi set. I will buy that set though the shop (let's hope I guessed correct)
