I have the Raspberry Pi shield with the Pi ringlight. I have the Raspberry Pi 4. The ethernet port on the RPi4 is in a different location than on the RPi 3B+. When I mount the Pi Shield on the RPi4, there is not enough room for the ringlight cable to be plugged into the shield.
I could:
1) reverse the orientation of the connector so that the cable points down instead of up. This would reverse pins 1 and 3 of the connector.
2) Move the connector to the back of the shield. This would also reverse pins 1 and 3 of the connector.
3) If it is important that pin 1 and pin 3 not be swapped, I could mount the connector on the back of the shield and in reverse orientation.
My understanding of the circuit is that pin 1 is V(low) for one bank of 4 LEDs, and pin 3 is V(low) for the other bank of LEDs. If both banks are always used together, then reversing pins 1 and 3 should not create a problem.
Yes, is possible, no problem
